Donna Cross is an
old boundary stone situated in the col between Cold Moor to the
east and Cringle Moor to the west
on the northern escarpment of the Cleveland Hills
The base stone is a
natural boulder - a rectangular socket about 9 inches long is cut
into it in which
only a small piece of the upright stone stem remains loosely
placed.
A letter 'E' is
engraved on the north side of the base representing the Emmerson
family of Easby Hall, Easby
- on the south side of the base is a letter 'F' for the Feversham
family of Duncombe Park, Helmsley
