Welcome

You are invited to view and peruse just one very eclectic collection of Tennis related Antiques and memorabilia.

A keen player, coach and supporter of this great game I purchased my first piece of memorabilia some 24 years ago. In the corner of a small antiques shop in Chichester, placed in an umbrella stand, was a Slazenger Demon Fishtail which I bought for the princely sum of £3.00p.

The collection continued to grow and grow, now stands at over 100 items, needless to say the prices have also continued to grow. The items in this collection have interested, amused or amazed me and others just simply belong in a different time worthy of recollection.

I hope it is worthy of a public viewing. Punch described 'the tyrant of the turf and its victims' in a print appearing in the mid 19th Century and referring to how tennis gripped England at that time.

Best describe the author of 'hookedontennisantiques.net' as a victim. Please let me know if anyone knows of a cure.

So enjoy this collection I doubt if the world of tennis will ever return to using wooden racquets and it will certainly never be necessary to store your Racquet away in a press. I am still collecting, attending auctions and browsing shops so I look forward to hearing from like minded supporters.
