Our meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month (excluding July and August) at 7.30 pm in The Milner Hall, St. Peter Street, Winchester (click for map and parking) and the programme for 2009/2010 is as follows:

Nicholas Bagshawe – A Dealer’s Story

 

An entertaining talk on the setting up of a business in St James’s, London. The talk, illustrated with a number of items the speaker has bought and sold over the years, aims to give something of an insight into the colourful nature of the dealing world.

John Bartlett – British Art Pottery

 

John has written many articles and is author of English Decorative Ceramics and British Ceramic Art

Anna Buruma – “Liberty” the Art of Taste

 

Anna is the Archivist at Liberty’s and will relate how Arthur Liberty built up his business and captured the new art market of the early 1900s.

The Society occasionally organises visits to places of interest, either as day trips or longer, both locally and further afield and has even ventured abroad in the past.

 

Social and special ‘members only’ events are also held.
