Frequently Asked Questions
![]()
Q.
How much do you charge?
A. The charge we make is calculated on, The When, The Where & The Duration. There is no "fixed fee" because almost every function is different.
Q.
Why should I book you?
A. The majority of our bookings arise from customers who have approached us at the end of the evening and complimented us on the night's performance. They then pass the news on to their friends and as a result our business cards circulate. Our DJ's have a complete range of music, ranging from the 60's to the current day. We welcome any requests throughout the evening and we aim to play to your guests needs.
3)
Is the price of the DJ good value?
A. The cheapest DJ is not the best value! You are choosing the person who will share the spotlight with your guest(s) of honour and help set the tone for your entire function and the enjoyment of your guests. Why try to save a few pounds only to be disappointed with a less than professional performance? Months after your function, will your guests be talking about how good the food was, or how that inexperienced bargain DJ ruined the party?
6)
How do I know you will turn up?
A. We issue a Contract showing the details of your event. Obtaining a written booking confirmation and contract ensures that there is no misunderstanding between you and your DJ. Details such as; Customer name and address, venue details, function details, performance time, music requirements, deposit and fee payment details will be clearly specified. A written booking confirmation and contract will help avoid any potential dispute as to your and the disc jockey's obligations. Our DJ's are bound by contract also.
Q.
If we book one of your discotheques, will it be "too
loud " or "too bright"?
A. No, all our DJ's are aware that, with family parties such as weddings, the sound and light needs to monitored at all times. You are also given the option to request that certain types of lighting may or may not be used. We do not use smoke machines, strobe lights or bubble machines, unless requested in writing. Of couse if you want it loud and bright, just shout!
Q.
How long do you need to set up?
A. We always advise to allow 1 hour for setting up and 1 hour for dismantling. Please allow more time for bigger shows, or where access to the performance area is difficult.
Q.
What do you wear on the day?
A. All our DJ's are presented in a smart and casual way according to the nature of your event.
Q.
Do the people who work for you have Public Liability Insurance and is their
equipment tested for electrical safety?
A. Yes, most of the Artistes have £2 million PLI cover, and this year most will be increasing this to £5 million. The majority of the Artistes that we use have their equipment Portable Appliance Tested annually to the current HSE Electricity At Work regulations.

REQUESTING SONGS
BEFORE REQUESTING SONGS, MAKING COMMENTS OR ASKING QUESTIONS OF THE D.J., PLEASE CHECK BELOW:-
1)
PLAY SOMETHING GOOD...SOMETHING WE CAN DANCE TO.
The D.J. has to play for more than one person... so what you hate may be another’s favorite song and EVERYTHING played here can be danced to one way or another.
2)
WOULD YOU PLAY SOMETHING WITH A “BEAT”?
BE SERIOUS! We know of NO songs played that don’t have some sort of Beat!
3)
I DON’T KNOW WHO SINGS IT AND I DON’T KNOW THE NAME OF THE SONG, BUT IT GOES
LIKE THIS...
PLEASE don’t sing for the D.J. They have to put up with smoke-filled rooms and dangerous decibel levels all night... Do them a favour and DON”T give them a rendition of your favorite song.
4)
EVERYBODY WANTS TO HEAR IT!
Oh, sure... you polled everyone and, as their spokesperson, you’re requesting the song. We'll try and add your song to our playlist so long as it isnt going to clear the dancefloor which the DJ has been working hard to fill all night.
5)
EVERYBODY WILL DANCE IF YOU PLAY IT!
The D.J. won’t. I guess that blows a hole in that theory!
7)
I WANT TO HEAR IT NEXT!
The ONLY people who can get away with that statement write the D.J.’s paycheck.
8)
I DON’T KNOW WHAT I WANT TO HEAR... WHAT DO YOU HAVE?
It’s a lot easier for you to go have another beer and figure out what you want to hear than it is for the D.J. to recite the name of every record in history!
9)
HEY, MAN, NOBODY CAN DANCE TO THIS!
It is NOT advisable to say this when the dance floor is packed (but some people do anyway)! HOWEVER, even if there is only ONE person on the floor, it STILL contradicts the statement.
SOME ASSORTED THINGS NOT TO SAY
If you ask for a song and the D.J. says he just played it, DON”T SAY “Well, I just got here.” It makes absolutely no difference. DON”T SAY, “Is this the only kind of music you play?” If you go to a Chinese restaurant, you wouldn't ask for Italian food. Rock clubs play rock, new wave clubs play new wave, discos play disco, etc., etc., etc. If you ask for a song...BE SPECIFIC. DON’T SAY, “I wanna hear something...anything but this!” Try going to the bar and saying, “I wanna drink something...anything but this...” You can’t complain if you're not SPECIFIC. HOWEVER, if you ARE specific and the D.J. says he doesn’t have that song, DON’T SAY, “What!?!? What do you mean you don’t have it? What kind of D.J. are you? Why don’t you get into the wonderful world of fast food! You obviously don’t know what you’re doing as a D.J.”... HE MAY SHOOT YOU!!
-SPECIAL NOTE-
A D.J. is expected to play everything for everybody. It is impossible to satisfy all of the people all of the time, yet DJ's are expected to do that. If a radio jock tells his listeners a song is a hit, the majority of the people figure it must be “because they said so on the radio. However, 80% of the time that same song was being played in a club long before the radio DISCOVERED the NEW song. So give the D.J. a break! The next time you request a song, stop and THINK before you speak. And above all...if the D.J. has one hand on the mixing board, one hand on a turntable, and the headphones on... DON’T BUG HIM...HE’S MIXING!
