Christ On Disk is a
freeware application for viewing the King James Version of the Bible.
It is a stand-alone application that is able to fit onto and run from
a single floppy disk that has been specially formatted.
The floppy disk must be
formatted to 1.72Mb instead of the usual 1.44Mb. This can be done using
any of the freely available utilities you can download from the Internet
(see below).
Considering the plain Bible
text alone is over 4.5Mb, adding a viewing application and getting it
to all fit onto a single floppy disk was far from simple. Read the story
behind Christ On Disk here while you're
waiting for your download to complete.
"Christ
On Disk is easy to carry and easy to use, so it is easy to share!"
Christ On Disk fits
onto a single floppy disk making it ideal for
- Bible missionaries who
need to travel light.
- Pastors who need to copy
Bible texts when writing their sermons.
- Students who want to e-mail
encouraging Bible quotes to friends.
- Anyone making church bulletins,
presentations, etc. who needs to include Bible quotes.
- Those with limited computer
disk space.
- Anyone who needs a pocket
sized electronic Bible!
- Bible smugglers who don't
want to get caught! ;-)
"Have
the entire Word of God on a single floppy disk!

Notes
and small print:
- Windows explorer says

- similarly it shows 1.66Mb free disk space on 1.72Mb formatted floppy
disks. This is normal.
- Floppy disk drives are
not known for their speed. If you are starting Christ On Disk from a
floppy it can take about 50-90 seconds for your floppy drive to read
the disk. However, once the program has started everything else is instant.
