This is no relation to the old British game of Hazard although this game is often referred to as simply Hazard and not by its more correct full title, Grand Hazard.  It is a banking game from the Wild West frontier which may still be found in casinos as a side game.  The operator provides a layout that shows the pay-off system and rolls the dice, either from a cup or with a special hazard chute.  Three dice are used.

Players simply place their bets on the outcome of the three dice that are rolled by the House.  Pay-offs are usually 'for' rather than 'to' which means the bank keeps the stake bet by the player and 30 for 1 would be more properly expressed as 29 to 1.  Note that the high, low, odd and even bets do not pay if made as three-of-a-kind and it is this that gives the House the edge on these bets.  Three-of-a-kind is known as a raffle.

The six dice faces at the top of the table pay like the game of Chuck-a-Luck.  A bet placed on one of the six dice faces pays evens (1 to 1) if one die shows the specified value.  It pays 2 to 1 if two dice show the specified value and 3 to 1 if all three dice show the specified value.

The numbers around the edge of the layout pay if the dice total the specified value.

High bets pay if the dice total 11 or more and Low bets pay if the dice total 10 or less. Remember High and Low don't pay with raffles - three-of-a-kind.
