We are sure you will agree that we offer some good jazz, and that you will want to come along and hear it. If you do, it could be as a member or as the guest  of a member; becoming a member is easy, and involves a small annual subscription. We charge for entrance at the door, depending on who is  playing; this year members pay £5.50, and guests pay £7.50, except on special nights when the cost is a little higher. If you come only once a month (and  many of us are there 45 or more times a year!), it is definitely cheaper to become a member - you will also get priority for tickets to our special events.

If you would like to look us over, you can obtain temporary membership (at guest rates) and enjoy a good evening's jazz in pleasant surroundings.  You will find a friendly welcome and discover a bonus not enjoyed by many jazz clubs - first class music with drinks at cricket club prices!

The BAY is a club - your club.  The atmosphere is definitely there just like it was back in the fifties.  We are all a bit older - well quite a lot older actually - but the bands have got older too.  However, now and again a younger outfit turns up and does it just as well and in some cases they astound us all, ensuring that the tradition of New Orleans and Dixieland remains alive and well at the BAY.  Younger members too come along and it’s a joy to watch their faces as they sit in the candlelit setting drinking in the music and tapping their feet and in many cases, finding it all too hard to believe.
