Welcome to the website of Norma and Derek Varley,
the purpose of this site is to help and advise people who may be
interested in selecting the Shetland Sheepdog as a pet.
We have
just one dog now, a Blue Merle bitch named Pepperhill Miss
Larkin's, pet name Callie. She came to us from
Pepperhill, (Sandra
and Maureen) and at the time of writing is a little over two years of age.
Callie had one
unsuccessful litter, after which we decided to put the whelping box into
storage. It is very unlikely we will ever return to breeding
Shelties in the future.
We were breeders
of the Shetland Sheepdog (Sheltie) and have reared many litters
over the past years. Our two best known dogs, were Daisy and
Josie, now both sadly passed on.
We are a little bias, but think the Sheltie has the
intelligence, agility, temperament and general all round
loveliness, to make the best companion you could ever have.
Norma and I have recently volunteered to be carers for
www.holidays4dogs.co.uk.
We have previously had back our puppy's for holidays, so now we
no longer breed pups, this seems a perfect solution. Worth
considering if you don't like kennels. |
