AIRPLAN© can be used to plan patrol missions and missions to targets and destinations, for all A/c & operational roles.

The program can make calculations for multiple patrol missions to different radii, or sorties to targets or destinations at different distances. It also caters for any number of aircraft flown to each radius or distance.

For example, six missions may be flown to any number of patrol areas at a radius of (say) 250 nm, two to patrol areas at 360 nm, and one to an area at 600 nm, all conducted concurrently. (please scroll down the page)

The program additionally calculates the date/time at which Strategic Airlift deployments will be completed, and the date/time by which any designated tonnage should have been delivered to a destination. You can accurately compare the Airlift delivery performance of different transport aircraft types and fleets.

The user can calculate results for any number of individual aircraft as well as for formations containing any number of aircraft, flying to any radius or over any distance.

AIRPLAN© calculates the aircraft & crews required for each radius or target/destination distance, the flight hours, the number of sorties, the fuel required, attrition losses, etc., and the timing of all sorties. Results are shown mission by mission, allowing missions to be adjusted if the total package exceeds the capabiliy of available forces.

If the number of planned missions exceeds AIRPLAN's capability in a single analysis, calculate the first batch of missions, 'Save' the results, then calculate the remainder.

Asset and mission input adjustments can be made in order to optimize mission effectiveness and fleet employment.

Use AIRPLAN calculations to adjust Establishments in order to maximise capability and cut Fleet Lifecycle Costs. (please scroll down the page)

Below, are examples of typical scenarios for which AIRPLAN© can calculate sortie, crew and aircraft requirements, and print out sortie timing schedules.

Strategic and Tactical Airlift operations and any other operational role or scenario can be calculated by AIRPLAN© . Five illustrations below show sample missions for:

  • Long Range Maritime Patrol

  • Air Defence, AEW & Air-Air Refuelling

  • Ship-based Naval Air Operations

  • Ground Attack, Tactical Reconnaissance, OCA and DCA, Strike/Attack, Interdiction, etc.

  • Airlift
