Each year we hold three competitions and have recently introduced a fourth in memory of Keith Rowley. The subjects of the competitions are always open are judged by all the members attending the meetings.

The Myford Trophy which is presented by the Myford Engineering Company.

The Chambers Cup. This cup was donated to the Assn. by a Mr John Chambers for members who have not previously won a club prize. This is to encourage the newer turners to submit entries.

These two trophies are contested in November with the winners being announced at the December Social evening.

The David Francis Trophy - David Francis was a founder member of the association and a well known turner in his own right, being famous for his lace bobbins having written a book on making them. The trophy was donated by his widow in 1999 and this competition is held in February.

The Keith Rowley Memorial Trophy. This competition is ongoing monthly from January to November. The competition is in two sections - novices and experienced. Each month, the best judged items are awarded most points with the winner being the member who has accrued the most points over the year. There is no monthly prize but the overall winner receives a cheque for the charity of their choice.
