- Start from the Robin Hood Inn, Pecket Well. It's a top
Pub and Pro MTB as well.
- Turn right onto the road and climb to a fork, where you
turn left. Continue for just over 1km and then turn left onto a way marked,
narrow, sunken bridleway. Drop to the bridge and climb out the other side to
a fork where you keep left. Climb to a good track at the top and turn right.
Follow this to a ruined building and turn left, through a gate. Follow the
track around to the left, to another gate, go through this and keep the wall
on your right, to a drop to a stream. Keep straight ahead to join a good
track at Walshaw, where you turn right.
- Follow this down across Alcomden Water and climb up to a
junction where you turn left, then left again, to ride along a tarmac track
with the wood to your right. this leads to a road where you turn right to
Widdop Res. Turn left onto a way marked bridleway, over the dam, and
continue on a good track above the water, around a sharp bend to the top.
Keep straight ahead, over Hameldon, and drop on a straight track into
Worsthorne. Turn sharp right and follow the lane down over Swinden Bridge
and up to a T-junction, where you turn left to Cockden. Continue to a
x-roads and turn right, then follow this for 4km to a way marked bridleway
at the bottom of a hill, opposite Coldwell Res.
- Turn right and follow this good track for 4km. Keep
straight ahead, when it becomes tarmac, and then again, as the drive swings
left. Follow the rough track above the river and then drop to cross it.
Climb up the track on the other side and continue straight ahead, along the
side of field, to join a good track coming in from the right. Follow this
into the valley bottom and swing right and then left to climb out to the
road.
- Turn right and continue for 7km, through Stanbury, past
Lower Laithe Res, to drop steeply over a river and climb steeply up the
other side. Turn sharp right at the top and continue to a T-junction where
you turn left. Climb a short distance then drop steeply to the first on the
right. Take this to ride around the res and the climb steeply up onto Stairs
Hill. Keep straight ahead, through a narrow pass, and then descend to the
road. Keep straight ahead to ride back to the Pub.
