GPS system

My GPS system is a Dell Axim X5 PDA with Compact flash (CF) GPS card, running Pocket PC 2002 and memory-map software Region 8 map

I've got an external GPS antenna that Velcro's to the back of my helmet (to keep the water out it's been wrapped in a plastic bag) which in turn plugs into the CF GPS card. I set the system going and then put the PDA in my bum bag.

During the ride the System logs speed, distance, ascent and descent and produces a track log of waypoints. Once saved it can display the route as a flat map, a 3d map, and a map with a  gradient profile. (nb. by clicking on any point of the profile it will show the location of that point on the route by a red dot see example)
