Bastard Toadflax in its typical chalk downland habitat.

Ports Down, Hampshire, 6th August 2009.

A very small and slender wild plant; it is more or less prostrate with small star-like flowers which have very small white petals, the stem and leaves are a yellowish-green; the lower picture shows it in its typical chalk downland habitat where it grows on bare or sparsely vegetated disturbed areas.
