Introduction

<> Aims of my web site <> What's new <> Site Contents <> Navigating Deb's Web <>

The aims of this web site are to share some of the many photgraphs I have taken of flora, fauna, lichens and fungi, and which would otherwise lie unseen in a box or on a computer drive, and, hopefully, help people appreciate the joy of nature - which might be right on their own doorstep. There is a strong bias towards Gosport, but Fareham the rest of Hampshire, or further afield are not off limits. There are 4 main sections: Section I - the Image Galleries with large pictures mostly under 140KB some photos are too large to fit the page properly - so do check the pages for an 'enlargement' option (usually opening in a 'pop-up' window). Sections II-IV - articles, some illustrated, where I have tried to keep images fairly small.

What's new -

Xanthogramma pedissequum (a hoverfly) <> Helophilus pendulus (a hoverfly) <> Bombus terrestris (Buff-tailed Bumblebee) <> Spiranthes spiralis (Autumn Lady's-Tresses) new pic <> Trifolium glomeratum (Clustered Clover) <> Browndown SSSI view (new pic) <> Vanessa atalanta (Red Admiral) <> Myathropa florea (a hoverfly) <> Lacerta vivipara (Common Lizards) <> Lycaena phlaeas (Small Copper) <> Cladonia portentosa (a lichen) <> Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus) <> Redstart (Phoenicurus phoenicurus) <> Pholidoptera griseoaptera (Dark Bush Cricket) <> Volucella inanis (a hoverfly) <> Xylota segnis (a hoverfly): at Fleet Pond, and in my garden <> Hampshire Flora Group meeting at Fleet Pond, 31-May-2008 <> Hampshire Flora Group meeting at Sowley, 01-Jun-2008 <> Trifolium suffocatum Suffocated Clover <> Corizus hyoscyami heteropteran bug <> Gaudinia fragilis (French Oat-grass) <> Viola canina subsp. canina (Heath Dog-violet) <> a mining bee (Andrena nigroeanea) <> Common Wasp (Vespula vulgaris) <> Hannah's bouquet <>
