Snow Angel

She was the Snow Angel
He gave her all he could,
He loved his Snow Angel
Although he knew she would
Melt away.

The gift of love brings laughter
To her blue eyes through the tears,
He plays by ear and heart,
She feels the love push back her fears,
A time to savour how intense a life can be,
A high that takes away the pain and sets her spirit free.

She was the Snow Angel
He gave her all he could,
He loved his Snow Angel
Although he knew she would
Melt away.

A symphony of birds
Answers the waking of the sun,
It touches her with new life
As she tastes the Spring begun,
There’s no chance that an angel made of snow could still remain,
No point in hanging round when even love can’t calm the pain.

What is still unfinished? What remains unsaid?
Before she begins the great adventure,
Ready for her journey, at peace but wanting still
To sooth his hurt with one final gesture.

She was the Snow Angel
He gave her all he could,
He loved his Snow Angel
Although he knew she would
Melt away.
