I’m Ready To Love You

Where are all the things that used to bring us together?
Gave us all the strength to know that we weren’t alone
Things we always thought that everybody would fight for
Singing in one voice like that was all we had known

Now we put our faith in choosing six little numbers
That will set us up, apart from all the rest
And life is just a lottery where all that is certain
Is that no-one seems to know what’s for the best

(And) Where are all the things that used to bring us together?
Gave us all the strength to know that we weren’t alone
Things we always thought that everybody would fight for
Singing in one voice like that was all we had known

All for one and none for all and sharing’s not an option
In this brave new world of enterprise and choice
Where vested interests set us all against one another
Quick to judge and slow to hear another voice

(But) Where are all the things that used to bring us together?
Gave us all the strength to know that we weren’t alone
Things we always thought that everybody would fight for
Singing in one voice like that was all we had known

All we had known
All we had known
Was to walk down this road together
Never doubting the why or whether
For longer than it took to find
That we were still of the same mind
And then we started again,
We started again,
We started again,
We were in this ’til the end of time

And these were all the things that used to bring us together
Gave us all the strength to know that we weren’t alone
Things we always thought that everybody would fight for
Singing in one voice like that was all we had known
Singing in one voice like that was all we had known
