Ann
An
undergraduate in the 1980s, Ann was frequently seen sporting that infamous
hair style, the perm. Evidence of this can be obtained from this photo
taken from the University of Bradford's Modern
Languages prospectus for 1989/90. Ann is second from the right, the partially
obscured one with the frizzy blonde hair.
After
graduation, Ann embarked on a sales career, but in 1991 fell victim to
the recession in the service sector. She qualified in TEFL and spent several
years working in Japan as an English Language Trainer in a shipping &
transportation company.
On
returning to the UK in 1994, Ann completed an MSc at Sheffield Hallam
University and in 1995 moved into the field of multimedia learning design.
She has continued working in the industry and currently has a post as
a Senior Training Designer in a Sheffield-based
multimedia design consultancy.
One
of the largest projects she worked on was a health & safety course
for Great Western Trains. Little did she know at this point that this
experience would endear her to a steam enthusiast in Lincoln.
Ann's
interests include watching bizarre foreign films at Sheffield's
independent cinema, reading modern novels, eating out with friends
and drinking G&T. Fond of singing, she recently dressed up as Liesel
for the Sheffield performance of Sing-along-a-Sound of Music. She
is pictured here with her good friend Alice who obligingly created a Rolf
costume for the same event.
