Swanage

There are several good marks around Swanage. The first and most obvious is the Pier. This is a wooden pier and as such provides a good home for lots of small fish providing good float fishing sport, particularly for the youngsters.

Fishing here costs £1.50 per rod for adults and 50p for juniors. Sliding float and Rag or Mackeral strips are good tactics. Species caught here are Mackeral, Garfish, Wrasse, Pollack and if you are lucky Bass.

Further afield good fishing can be had along the coastal path towards Lulworth at places such as Chapmans Pool, Kimmeridge, Durlston Country Park the target species being Wrasse, Pollack and Bass. Chapmans Pool is a long hike down from the car park, and even further back!

Kimmeridge is easy to get to, there is a charge to get to the car park, but the fishing for Bass and Mullet is very good.

Bait and tackle can be obtained from Swanage Angling Centre, (01929 424989)
