Fire on the Heath!

The estate I live on is based in the middle of a large heath, and tonight it caught fire... I nipped out with my camera and took a few photos:

Apologies for the slight blurring, but the smoke was quite thick and the wind is blowing quite hard now, so I didn't want to hang around too much!

Drive failure!

I arrived home tonight to find my server in a constant rebooting state - after having a quick look it turns out the hard drive failed sometime during the day, trashing my music and putting the webcam out of action.

Fortunately I only updated my mp3 player last night (I didn't fancy ripping all my CD's again), so I've copied all the tracks back onto my main PC. I dunno if I'm going to bother replacing the drive - the PC is old, and could probably do with being retired, but the cam will be back whatever happens... soon!!

A day to remember...

Today is St. David's Day, the national day of Wales - the birthplace of my mum, and my nan.

Sadly, my nan passed away this morning - she's been on a gradual decline for a few years, but the last couple of weeks have been particularly difficult. It's always sad to lose someone close, but she's no longer in any distress, so I suppose it's for the best really - although it doesn't make it any easier to come to terms with, unfortunately.

Goodbye, nan... we'll miss you.
