Scientific Journal Entry!

I've gone and done it now - this week I have managed to get my name in New Scientist magazine!

They have a feature running in their "Feedback" section which highlights strange units of measurement - I found one in PC Advisor magazine, so I sent it in and they've published it! The full entry is quoted here:

MEANWHILE, at the other end of the scale, congratulations to PC Advisor magazine for inventing the most unusual unit of measurement we have come across yet. David Way discovered in the magazine's April issue that Intel's new Prescott chip is manufactured from transistors "only 90 nanometres across - thinner than a flu virus".

The full entry can be seen here on the New Scientist website.

From a distance...

My parents are going off on a cruise around the Caribbean for the next month, so I'm house sitting for them. Fortunately, thanks to the wonders of the Internet (and Microsoft's NetMeeting) I can still keep in touch with Linda at home, and even use my computer remotely (as I am now!)

Busy, busy, busy!!!

I've been busy this last week coding some pages for a fellow Blog user (Father Daniel Gauthier) - he wasn't happy with the layout of his pages, and especially with the fact that they wouldn't display correctly in Mozilla or Opera, so he asked for help - and that's what I've been doing! His website is here - there's still a bit of work to be done, but we're getting there!
