Easter Egg Run 2004

The day dawned overcast and raining, not a good sign for a successful Egg run, by 11:45 I was beginning to worry only a handful of members had turned up, but hooray by the off at 12:30 we had 19 ½ Bikes, pat’s sidecar counts as a half, three car loads of followers and almost 140 eggs; a good day!
After presenting the local woman’s refuge with some eggs we rode out along the back roads to the Keech Cottage, where we gave some eggs not only to the children’s hospice but also to the adult wing around the corner.
Things were a little difficult at the Keech as they had a very sick child in residence, that after all is what the place is about, but the staff and children did come out and sat on the bikes, chatted to the riders and were very happy with our visit.
A ride through Luton followed where we repeated the process at the children’s wing of the Luton and Dunstable Hospital.
The group then rode out to Stotfold and the William peel Public house where we were made welcome by the landlady and the regulars alike, a possible venue for our Monday night visits perhaps.
The day ended at around 5:00 when everyone made their ways home, a thoroughly enjoyable and worthwhile day I hope was had by all.
We had raised a little cash outside the Robin Hood before we left and on Monday 5th at our regular night, we raffled off some eggs. We managed to raise £105, which will go toward our annual presentation to the Keech Cottage Children's Hospice.
A big thank you to all who took part, on Motorbikes, but also in cars, without whom we would have had serious transportation problems, not only for Eggs but injured riders as well. also all those who donated eggs, and money, and especially to our friends at "Bikestop" who sent over 20 eggs for us, well done all.

Dear Mr Taylor
On behalf of Keech Cottage Children’s Hospice we would like to thank you for taking the time to visit the hospice during your Easter egg run and for your kind donation of the Easter eggs for the children. Thank you for thinking of us.
Keech Cottage Children’s Hospice is part of The Pasque Charity. Our children’s hospice supports Iife-limited children in Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire.
To provide care and support for these children costs over £1 million each year and with very little government funding we are reliant upon voluntary donations to continue our valuable work.
Thank you once again for your support, we really appreciate it.
Yours sincerely

Stevenage and District Motorcycle Club
Dear Mr Kinch
On behalf of Stevenage and North Herts Women’s Refuge, I would like to thank all of the members of Stevenage and District Motorcycle Club who so kindly donated Easter eggs for the children at refuge over the Easter period.
These donations were greatly appreciated and enjoyed by the families who received them; it also gave support to know that people were thinking of them during a difficult time.
Once again thank you.
With best wishes
