David studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama from 1987-1990 with Peter Gane and Eric Crees. Since leaving, he freelanced with the major orchestras, including the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra until his appointment in March 2002 as Sub-Principal Trombone in the Philharmonia. He is in demand as a guest principal with other symphony orchestras, and also as a chamber musician. He has played in numerous West End shows including Cats, Sunset Boulevard, Oklahoma!, Martin Guerre, Dame Edna - The Spectacle, My Fair Lady and Lion King. He joined the Albion Brass Consort in October 1989.
