Click on 'thumbnail' pictures to enlarge On Thursday 27th September we took the 10.45am Delta flight DL204 from Dallas/Fort Worth to Cincinnati Airport with Jerry and Lou Croston and a 2 hour flight got us there at 1.45pm (minus 1 hour time difference). Cincinnati's airport is actually on the south side of the Ohio River and in North Kentucky. We picked up our hire car at the airport and a 45 minute drive saw us at our hotel, the AmeriSuites in Mason, Ohio - 19 exits north of downtown Cincinnati up Interstate 71. It was our home for the next four nights. We were amazed to find that the manager there originated from Selby, North Yorkshire, a mere 30 miles from home! We found time to relax before going out for a meal - at A J Copelands Cajun Restaurant nearby the Hotel. We ate Jambalaya - it was good! Then we met up with the guys from the wedding party at Kenwood Towne Mall where they were to be fitted for and collect their Tuxedos for the wedding. From there we drove past downtown Cincinnati and over the Ohio River to Covington (in North Kentucky) where apparently the night life is. An area called Main Stasse hosts lots of bars, English ones included and we all met up in the COCK AND BULL for a couple of beers. The more energetic moved on to other bars but at midnight we headed back to our hotel. Brian trying on 'tux' Main Strasse, Covington Darren, Tim & Linda
Friday morning after breakfast in the Hotel we went back to Covington in the hope of a River Boat trip but the times weren't as published so we missed out. We headed back over the Ohio and went up Mount Adams, an area looking down on Cincinnati and where 'WRKP Cincinnati' allegedly was. We got some splendid views of downtown Cincinnati and then moved on to Eden Park, another lofty location, this time with views of the Ohio River.

A period of rest followed back at the Hotel before going to the Church for the Rehearsal and on to the Rehearsal Dinner (for more see the 'Rehearsal' page). Saturday was the day of the wedding (for more see 'Wedding', 'Park Pics' and 'Reception' pages). Ohio River Mount Adams Cincinnati from Eden Park from Newport from Newport
Sunday we were to take Jerry and Lou to the airport but before that we ate breakfast out at Frisch's and then drove along the Ohio a while, did some sightseeing Downtown and went over the river to Newport. We dropped Jerry and Lou off at 3.00pm and headed back to our hotel in Mason. That night we ate Gumbo soup and Blackened Red Fish at A J Copelands. Not a good idea as Linda was up all night and didn't feel well most of the following day - food poisoning maybe?
