Martyn is 25 as I write and attended Mirfield Free Grammar School where he gained the distinction of being Head Boy in his last year there, thus equalling his sister's achievement at her school. He went on to the University of Sheffield and graduated with a BSc(Hons) in Environmental Geology in 1997. He spent eight months as a Mud Logger with GeoServices before joining Drilling Solutions International in 1998. In April 2001 he moved on to be an Area Sales Manager for Hayes Waste management and is based in Lincoln, not far from his home in the village of Wragby.
Martyn's interests are his computer and, like his father, football. He is a qualified level 5 referee though since University, his work load has prevented him pursuing it as a career.
Alison hails from Nottingham originally and there she attended Top Valley School. When her family moved to Sutton on Sea in Lincolnshire she continued her education at John Spencliffe High School and at Boston College. She was introduced to Martyn in a local pub by Martyn's dog, Sam and they have in 1999 set up home together (Martyn and Alison - not the dog!) in Wragby - 10 miles east of Lincoln.
Their son Harvey Thomas was born on 12th August 1999 - another grandson to spoil!
