Founded more than 30
years ago, Sly Fox have firmly established themselves as an outstanding
rock/blues band around the North West of England and beyond.
Driving rock and
subtle blues tracks are what this band is all about; a solid foundation
of classic songs is further enhanced by their
own, original electric blues. Four top musicians playing powerful,
no-nonsense, maximum rock & blues at its very best.

My influences include the
work of Blackmore, Rossi, Gallagher (Rory), Moore, etc. General
Rock & Blues bands have always been on my stereo at home or in
the car. I’ve played in various bands, from straight Rock to
Rhythm & Blues and even a Soul Band. All of them were great
experiences; just playing it does it for me.
I’m trying to develop a
proper gurning technique for my longer guitar solos (of which
there are one or two!).
The greatest moments for
me have been the Blues Festivals where the crowd has been
appreciative of the music; especially when we’ve been playing
songs written by Dave and myself and structured by the band. You
simply cannot get a better feeling than that. Well, not on a
stage that is!

Guitarist, singer, song-writer; band web-site, posters and
covers graphic designer and implementer!
I listen to a diverse range of musical styles but, when it comes
to playing live music, it has to be a four-piece rock/blues
guitar band for me. Deeply committed to playing original music,
the live gig is where we’re at our best – we turn up the volume,
add a dash of smoke, switch on the lights, put on a show and
have a real good, foot-tapping, fun night.

A stand-in-the-corner, shy and retiring bass player?
– NOT!
With over 30 years’ experience working both
professionally and semi-professionally I’ve played extensively
in both the UK and Europe, and I’ve completed several summer
seasons with named acts from both television and stage. I’m
completely at home in the studio but I come alive on stage and
love to perform in front of any audience. Formerly a key member
of the highly successful rock horror show ‘Spooky’ I spent many
years coming in and out of coffins and was instrumental in the
production of the stage show.
I’m an extreme person, not only my bass playing but
also in everyday life; if not playing bass with the ‘Mighty Fox’
I can be found skydiving from 14,000 feet, racing quads or
motorbikes or some other activity guaranteed to induce fear.
My main musical influences range from Jaco Pastorius
and Stanley Clarke through to Bruce Foxton. I rely heavily on
Trace Elliott and Fender to make me sound better than I actually
am!
