One priest we talked to saw the essentials of a good retreat as “Good food and a good bed!”. We can provide both. The bedrooms are furnished to a high standard, with a comfortable chair or couch for reading and lovely views onto the gardens and courtyard.

Our home cooking aims to use local produce wherever possible, which from time to time includes meat from livestock reared on our land, as well as fruit and vegetables from the orchard and kitchen garden. |

The farmhouse kitchen is your space too and those who love to cook are welcome to bring a favourite recipe and treat us all over afternoon tea! Weather permitting we eat on the terrace or in the courtyard.
The house has a warmth and character of its own and guests can relax in its spacious surroundings. There are two comfortably furnished lounges, a well-stocked library, reading room, large reception hall and chapel.
The chapel space is intriguing for its’ setting around the hearth and since the Latin word for hearth is ‘focus’ what better way to acknowledge Christ’s presence than as the fire in our midst! We meet in the chapel for morning and evening prayer, valuing the gift of silence as much as the words we so often struggle to find. Those who wish to contribute may want to bring with them short poems, readings, prayers or songs.
