~ A little bit of heaven in Devon ~

Mill House Retreats is a small, privately run retreat house set in a secluded location in the heart of the Devon countryside yet within easy reach of the M5 and Tiverton Parkway station (direct line to Paddington).

Throughout the year we offer regular guided retreats and special events. Our next events are:

29th February - 2nd March Tempted by Bread: Food for the soul, although we do not live by bread alone we will make some!

14th - 16th March

Divorced or Separated?: Explore the pain of divorce or separation and the way ahead in company with others

21st - 23rd March The Soul's Journey: Easter readings, music and creative opportunities
11th - 13th April The Power of Story: Rev. Simon Airey offers an evening of storytelling and a day performance workshop

Rocknell Manor Farm has its roots in the past, earliest records of a house on the site go back to 958 with a further mention in the Doomsday Book; the current building dates from the late sixteenth century. Until recently it was a working farm with its own mill and granary but in the past it housed a group of nuns.

The natural beauty of both house and garden makes it the perfect place to reflect on life’s journey and discover new paths for the future. We especially welcome those who are exploring the Christian faith outside the institution of the church.

Whilst we offer a ministry of spiritual direction, we value the conversations that arise quite naturally within the household where a listening ear is all that is needed. Here we encourage people to feel at home in the company of others whilst mucking in with simple chores. In our experience wherever two or three are gathered, to chop logs or carrots, the God of community is there!
