Welcome to the Carlton Moor Gliding Club web site. We
are based above the village of
Carlton in Cleveland on the North Yorkshire
Moors, close to Stokesley, and are easy to find
with help from our
directions page.
Like all similar clubs,
Carlton Moor Gliding Club is regulated by the
British Gliding Association (BGA)
and our instructors are both trained and
authorized by them.
We are a relatively small
but very friendly club, and you can find
us flying most weekends.
As you can imagine by
the location of our Club, when the
weather is good the site and altitude
provide excellent flying conditions for
gliders. The Club's facilities are
currently fairly basic, but we do have shelter
from the elements, which can be quite bleak in
winter.
However, any lack of
amenities are more than made up for with
some of the best views the North
Yorkshire Moors has to offer.
