For confirmation of QSOs from my home QTH, I use pre-printed cards from one of the usual suppliers. However, I often need cards to confirm QSOs from portable operations and it isn't financially viable to have very small quantities printed. It seemed a good idea to use my colour inkjet printer to make custom cards.  After various experiments, I eventually settled on the following two methods

	A freeware program called QSL Maker is available from John McDonough,WB8RCR which makes it easy to design custom QSL cards. I normally use this program to make QSL's. At first, I used to print QSLs onto PostCard Stock, 4 cards per sheet. Recently, I found some excellent micro-perforated card stock from W7NN. Using This card stock with QSLMaker makes it very easy to get professional results.
	The other method I use for making QSLs is to use Paint Shop Pro to add text to a photo image. The image is usually from a local photo taken with my digital camera. After the image is reduced to 5"x3.5", the text is added and the image printed on HP Premium Plus Photo Paper.
