Brush
up time is a 10-15 minute session for remembering/discovering things about our
faith and our church. Up to Christmas we are going to look at some of the key
issues/events that made the Church of Scotland what it is today.

repertoire comes from a wide range of sources round the world and includes
virtuoso pieces from traditional and contemporary sources. Tickets £6 (£4 for
students) available from Fund raising Committee members or at door. Neil's CD
'The Guitarist at the Pirrie Hall' will be on sale.
Stalls:
baking, handicrafts, gifts, toys, books/CDs, Christmas goods, bric-a-brac (all
goods to be new or in good condition). Tea room in Youth Hall. Donations welcome – the Lounge will be open

November
Recognising the extended
period Finnart St Paul's have been dependent on pulpit supply on Sundays, a
couple of pulpit swaps have been arranged in November with the other churches
in the Parish Grouping. Ian Johnson is preaching there on 15 November and Alan
Ward on 29 November.
These
are available in church, made up or 'to make up' according to your preference.
Sheets are available with guidance on what to include/ what not to include.
They can be returned to church any time, but must be
back by Sunday 22 November
The
bookstall we organised in the Spring (ahead of Easter) proved popular, so we
are organising another one for Advent, ahead of Christmas. It will be available
from Sunday 22 November to Sunday 13 December, and we hope to have items
suitable for Children, 'religious' Christmas cards, and Advent calendars
(though these will only be available on 22 and 29 November). If you see
something you like, you can buy it, take it away, and once it's gone, it's
gone. In
addition we are participating in a pilot project with the St Andrew Press
(effectively the Church of Scotland's own publishing house) to have a Church of
Scotland Books Direct bookstall from 29 November for a couple of weeks. Items
will be on display (including books and some CDs). Orders are taken and
dispatched to the church. 25% of the cover price of all purchases will go to the
the Church of Scotland's Mission and Discipleship Council's work, and 25% to
OWK.
The
joint study group is this winter looking at issues associated with the
Reformation (2010 is the 450th
anniversary of the Scottish Reformation). All welcome. Advance Notices for December Advent
