Coverage Every wedding involves a ceremony of some kind and this comprises the basic coverage of any wedding. However,
you may choose how much coverage you want before and after. Photography of the bride making final preparations often produces
a series of interesting images that sum up the work leading up to the ceremony and sets the scene for the photographs that follow.
After the ceremony, there may be time for photographs in the immediate environment of the ceremony venue. Couples usually allow some time at this stage before proceeding to drinks or a reception. Sometimes, there may be a scenic location between the two venues that provides an opportunity for some romantic shots away from the guests. The reception can provide many opportunities as friends and relatives congratulate the happy couple and everybody starts to relax after the earlier formalities. There may be an evening event - a formal meal or a buffet often followed by dancing. At the end of the proceedings, the couple will depart. This may be preceded by a traditional throwing of the bouquet. We can provide complete coverage for as little or as much of the day as you wish. Deliverables The traditional end result is the wedding album. However, some couples now prefer just a set of prints to put in their own album (maybe a wedding present, perhaps). It is also possible to create presentations in DVD format. This is ideal for distributing the highlights to distant relatives or friends who could not make it to the wedding. Once prepared, duplication costs are minimal and is often more cost-effective than making up mini-albums for close relatives. Albums come in a range of styles and finishes but we prefer to use a small number of high-quality albums designed to last a lifetime. Where prints are produced, the printing is carried out on lustre-finish archival quality paper. Prints for a reportage-style album are printed with white borders (optional). Selection of images for your album is important and, for this, we construct a web site just for you and your guests to preview the images and to make selections from. We can also give you a copy of the web site on CD to distribute to friends and family and these images are also ideal for e-mailing to others. If you have a special requirement, please do contact us and we'll do our best to help. Travel and Subsistence David Steel Photography is based in Cambridge, UK and covers most of East Anglia. However, we do travel further afield and we have covered weddings from London to Northumberland, even crossing the channel to cover weddings in France. There is no extra charge for attending weddings in the local area but weddings further afield will attract a travel charge and maybe costs for overnight stay in a hotel as appropriate. For any wedding where the photographer is engaged for 3 or more hours, it is expected that the couple will make provision for refreshments. |
| Pricing |
Pricing for wedding photography depends on the actual combination of options chosen and as each package is tailored to the couple's
specific requirements, it is difficult to give a precise figure in advance. A firm price is normally given after the first consultation.
However, many people like to have an idea of pricing in advance as there are many things to plan for and budgets have to be allocated
accordingly.
A basic package for a registry office wedding starts from as little as £299 and includes 25 prints (album at extra cost) and up to 2 hours coverage. A more extensive package for a church or civil ceremony including up to 4 hours of photography in the Cambridge area and delivering 35 hand-finished prints starts from £499. Extra hours are charged at £75/hour. Packages with a quality made-to-order albums are, naturally, a little dearer. We can also supply selected images on CD starting from £50. These are guideline figures - we will provide a written quotation after a more detailed discussion of your requirements. These prices are effective for 2009 weddings. These prices will be held for 2010 weddings provided a firm booking is made in 2009 and a deposit paid. Bookings are made subject to availability of dates - we do not cover more than one wedding in any one day. All photography is paid for in advance. Please ask to see our full Terms and Conditions. |
