Sawbridgeworth Angling Society
Open Day - Bank Holiday Monday, 27th August 2007

Each year the Society opens its gates to the general public and keen anglers to enable them to view the facilities the club has to offer. The aim of the Open Day is to raise the Society's profile, especially for young angler who wishes to take up the sport. As part of the open day the Society organises several events based around fishing. We allow any adult or child to try their hand at fishing, supervised by one of 5 instructors offering various different fishing methods.

The club has also organised an open match for entrants of any age. The match is divided in to two groups - adults and juniors. The winner of each group will receive a small cash prize. This is often a key event with parents, who sit along side their children in an activity everyone can enjoy. Picnics are a feature for some parents although burgers and drinks are available throughout the day.

The organisers also hold a used tackle stall that sells virtually every angling item you can imaging. This stall generates great interest and many bargains can be had, especially as some items on sale have never been used.
