Supporters Club Notes, on the inside cover of the programme, emphasised the sorry plight of the club at this time. 'We are making a great effort to raise funds for the purpose of carrying out the most necessary of improvements to our ground, and we are asking you to help us make this possible. The collection to-day will, we hope, bring us a little nearer to the sum we require to carry out this task. Will you please help?'
