Droylsden's first piece of silverware. Droylsden earned this, their very first medal, in only their second season. After spending their first season playing friendly matches, the Droylsden officials started the 1893/4 season by entering the team into the Stockport & District Shield competition, where a hard fought 3-2 victory in the semi-final over Stockport Swifts took the Droylsden lads into the final - which unfortunately went unreported in the local press. The above medal was awarded to local lad, Joe Hume, Droylsden FC's tough, red-haired half-back.
