I had a friend who would point to a small but inviting hill and say "lets bag that and be back in time for tea". Shutlingsloe is one such hill. It stands out from the surrounding countryside, giving it's summit the best views around. On a clear day (which this was), not only can you see the nearby Roaches and Tittesworth reservoir, but also Manchester and even North Wales. The large amount of road walking spoilt the day to some extent, however at 500m high (with the road at 300m) Shutlingsloe is an ideal training ground for bigger things.

Last one up buys ice cream?

This is just part of the wonderful 360° views afforded from the top of Shutlingsloe

An impressive peak from any angle.

Clough Brook provides a change of scenery after the rocky landscape of the hill

The village of Wildboarclough features this
old mill house and church.

The track back was lined with various wild flowers.
