Such a promising start - blue skies, the odd cloud - the perfect day to get back to walking. In a rather contrary mood we decided to do this walk backwards, and it seemed to work. The uphill was converted from some punishing steps to a rolling hillside and the wonderfull open parkland of Chatsworth with its views of the house came as a treat at the end rather than the beginning. Unfortunatly the heavens opened when we were at the house and we got soaked. Having gone to plan B (I'll get the car love, you walk on the road) we soon swiched to plan C (lets rejoin the route we may dry off a bit) as the clouds passed over and gave way to more blue sky. It was a strange day weather wise. Check out the last phot in this set.

Beeley Hilltop farm

Emperor Lake from the bridge

The grounds are home to some magnificent trees

Canons outside the hunting tower

As you can see we made good time considering we have a 5 year old and our 2 year old walked a little too

A look back at the house and you can't tell, but it is chucking it down

What a difference 10 minutes makes
