How a Stop Smoking programme works

 

Normally there is a gap of at least a week between booking a session and the session itself. This is to allow you to get yourself ready to make this change in your life. For many (if not most) people, this is a significant change, and it's important that you get ready for it in the right way. As part of this there will be a number of questions to answer, and some things to notice about what happens when you smoke. The questionnaire must be returned before the first session.

 

The main session lasts around 90 minutes; after a discussion about your old smoking habit, about hypnosis (so that you are completely comfortable before we begin), and what to expect once you've stopped smoking, we begin the actual hypnosis session.

 

At the end of this session, I will give you a cd to listen to over the following week, to reinforce and deepen the suggestions from the main session.

 

One to two weeks later, there is a second, shorter session to check on progress, and to teach you a rapid relaxation process that you can use whenever you feel stressed. (Many smokers say that they smoke because of stress, so it's important to have a replacement activity that is healthier and more effective.)
