If my offer for the building is accepted, I would like to form The Friends of Christ Church Longcross. Friends would be kept updated on what is happening by the occasional email - perhaps four or five a year. There would be no appeals for money, and no joining fee. Emails would be sent out using the BCC box, keeping all email addresses secret. In the event of me handing over the running of the Friends to someone else, the address list would not be passed on; my final email out would be to explain that anyone wanting to coninue being a friend would need to send an email to the new person in charge requesting that.
I anticipate this scheme being of interest to relatives of people buried in the churchyard, Longcross residents and those who had moved away, and those interested in the project. We might have the odd social event - an annual barbecue for example. Please let me know if you think it is a good idea.
