Well, after thinking about it for the last few years, I have finally got round to writing a website for 'the-family'.
The purpose of any personal website is to share a little information about us, what interests and drives us as a family as well as the individuals within. This site will therefore do just that.
I hope you feel impelled to delve in and find out a little about us, how we educate our children from home, how three generations live in the same house and how I spend much of my spare time (whatever that is) mucking around with a variety of interesting and unusual cars.
Please bear with me as the site is still a 'work in progress' as many similar websites seem to be. A bit like my cars, I don't suppose it will ever be finished!

Home education. The why's and how's.
Education, Education, Education!
No, not another one of Tony Blairs speeches that mean very little, more a reflection of how we see our responsibility as parents to take an active role in the education of our children.
Many people are surprised to hear that you do not need formal education qualifications to legally teach your children from home, nor do you need to undertake any form of registration. Now, you may think this apparent lack of concern by the 'authorities' is at odds with the usual 'hands on' approach of government, but that is the way it is.

'Ullo John, got a new motor?'
Ah, that classic line uttered by Alexi Sayle all too many years ago and in similar vain to other classics such as 'Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps'. For those of you too young to remember, ask your Dad for a rendition. What is it they say, 'they don't write 'em like that any more' ??
Ahem, back to the subject! I am one of those people (who said odd?) that likes to muck around with cars. Old, new; big, little; good, bad; strange and surprisingly normal.
I blame my Dad really, he used to work at Ford in Australia and for a long time worked for a company building cranes on Wearside........
