Sector HQ manage the day to day administration that is generated by 25 detachments, 90 staff and 400 cadets.

There are five permanent staff.

South East London Sector is part of the Greater London Army Cadet Force.

In 1968, the Army Cadet Force in SE England was changed due to the formation of the Greater London Authorities. Four Sectors were formed

City of London & North East London Sector.
Middlesex & North West London Sector
South West London Sector
South East London Sector

Each Sector had three, four or five Groups or Regiments.

South East London Sector had four contingents. 7 (LY) Group, 8 Group, 9 (LA) Regiment and 10 Regiment. 8 Group was amalgamated into 7 Group and 9 Regiment in 1980.
