Easter Camp
The four day holiday at Easter provide a great opportunity for the Regiment to get away and get some good training time in the Spring. The location is usually in the South East.
What goes on?
We usually have a mixture of training, but predominantly 'Green' or Army-style rather than adventurous training. Cadets are grouped into Training Wings according to whichever star level they are working towards. They stay in these wings, meeting and becoming mates with cadets from other 10 Regiment detachments at the same level as themselves. Many of these friendships remain throughout a cadet's career.

What actually happens?
A typical day starts at starts at 06:30. Everyone gets up, washes, showers, and gets dressed ready for breakfast at about 07:15. If in barracks it is back to the block for about 08:00 and clean up ready for morning parade at 08:45. The parade is over quickly and the cadets are split into their training wings. Training continues until lunch at about 12:30.

After lunch, there is an afternoon of training until about 17:30 when it is time for dinner. Some wings may be doing training after dinner but generally work finishes about 19:30 (unless you are out in the field where it may not finish!). A quick wash up and everyone changes into civilian clothes for the evening.

After cleaning their kit and readying their equipment for the next day, most cadets head on up the Junior Ranks Club (JRC) or NAAFI where everyone usually hangs out. If out in the field, then the Wing Commander will generally arrange something to do. The club is likely to be pretty full and the atmosphere is pretty good and loud as you will meet all your mates up there. The JRC closes at about 22:00 and it is back to your block or campsite. Another day over.

What happens in the run up to Easter Camp?
A few weeks before Easter, a kit list is given out to all cadets who are going. The Detachment Commander will hold a briefing session and check that everyone knows what they need to know and has the correct kit.

On Maundy Thursday about 18:30, the cadet will turn up at their detachment with all their kit. The transport arrives, everyone boards and after an hour or two, they arrive at the camp. Sometimes we don't stay in a camp, but instead simply take over a training area and camp out the whole time.

On arrival, cadets are shown to their camp site or barrack block where the senior NCOs take over and give a quick runthrough on what is expected of them. Lights out at about 23:00.
