Becoming a Specialist in the ACF

Shooting
There is plenty of scope to become proficient in competitive target shooting.

Small Bore
Using the No 8 .22" rifle or possibly the Heckler Koch .22" conversion. Second Class, First Class & Marksman

Full Bore
Using the L98 A1 Cadet General Purpose Rifle or Light Support Weapon. Second Class, First Class & Marksman

Target Rifle
Using the excellent 7.62 Target Rifle, you may find yourself shooting at Bisley - the home of UK target shooting.

Signals.

When you pass out as an operator of the Clansman system, you can wear the crossed flags of a qualified signaller

Sport
If you represent Greater London ACF at the London District of Nationals, you are entitled to wear your Sports colours for that event.

First Aid
Although the St John Ambulance Lifesaver and Lifesaver Plus form part of the APC syllabus, there is scope for cadets to get even more proficient if they so wish. One of the Regiments ex-cadets was also an Ambulance-trained full time member of the Red Cross.
