1981: Future
members of the club including Councilors Edwards / Andrew / Bainbridge,
Mr Ron Dukes, Mr & Mrs King, and Mr Morris met at the Tea Pot
Hall with the intentions of starting the club. This
intention was advertised and meetings were then held at the Sunningdale
Junior School and the Constitutional Club when large numbers
of future members attended.
May
1982: Permission
given by Scunthorpe B.C. for the Keelby Road Bowling
Green to be used by the club until our own greens were constructed. The
club played at Keelby Road for four seasons.
1983: In
this year we were allowed to erect our own pavilion costing £1700
which the membership of 100 paid for the foundations and Pavilion. The
new pavilion was opened by Scunthorpe Mayor Bath and Bottesford
Mayor Edwards.
1985: Our
two greens and surrounds were laid by Community Programme Workers. The
greens were funded by the Bottesford Town Council and the Commission
Community Programme.
On 27th
July 1986 our greens were officially opened by the
Minister of Sport Richard Hickmet MP and Mayoress Mrs
Sheila Hesesltine. A match was played on this
day with the rinks invited and attended by all clubs in the
area.

The
Pavilion was
extended at a further cost of £1000 paid by members. These
were the first new greens to be opened in over 60 years for
this area. The membership was in excess of 100
and shortly after this move we had 4 Mixed Teams in the
local E.B.F League ...... 2 Ladies League Teams ...... and
2 Men's Triples League Teams.
Over
the many years The Bottesford Town Bowls Club has had several
Local, County, and National Champions.
Plus
we have always had a very good membership which enjoys
our many social events.
2006
season: The
club has over Fifty Members and during this season our
Ladies won the "Ladies League" and the men
won the "Men's
Triples 2nd Division.
