Following closure of the LCLR at Humberston in 1985 the stock and trackwork were initially stored adjacent to the Lincolnshire Railway Museum (now closed) at Burgh-le-Marsh near Skegness.
In 1995 a small band of volunteers, most of whom had been
involved with the railway in the 1960`s at Humberston, began working on
a new site for the railway at Skegness Water Leisure Park in Winthorpe,
Skegness, relaying the track and building a 5 road storage
shed, with a view to restarting passenger services at some date in the
future.
