There is potential to expand the terminal, which will partly depend on the SRA's willingness to upgrade the main line routes serving Immingham, as the present routes are almost at full capacity.
This could possibly involve level crossing/embankments/bridges upgrade on the Wrawby Junction to Gainsborough line, to take 775m long trains round the clock (though remaining single track). Increased traffic may run one way via Brigg and the other direction via Lincoln to minimise further level crossing delays in that City!
