The Ffestiniog Railways works at Boston Lodge on a grey damp morning
in 1990.
Double Fairlie "Merddin Emrys" waits to move off shed at Boston
Lodge as "Mountaineer"
comes off the Cob and turns towards Minffordd with a Blaenau Ffestiniog
train
"Linda" with a Porthmadog train on an ungated road crossing at Tanygrisiau
"Merddin Emrys" at Blaenau Ffestiniog station before retuning to
Porthmadog
Blaenau Ffestiniog station is shared with Network Rails Conwy Valley
line in foreground.
In the tradition of the great railway photographer Ivo Peters, who
liked to get his vintage Bentley car in his shots, I
found this handy parking place between Porthmadog and Penryn for
my Ford Fiesta, which allowed me to get this
shot of the double Fairlie, "Earl Of Merioneth", on a Blaenau Ffestiniog
train.
