Back Dane project volunteers meet roughly once a month from Friday to Sunday. We usually get together on a Friday and discuss what projects we will be working on for the weekend. Many of the tasks are simply keeping the place tidy and checking the facilities for any missing or broken items. Other tasks include : Painting inside the cottage. This is an ongoing job as there always seems to be at least one room in need of attention. Upgrading facilites such as the new roof on the kitchen. Providing new facilities such as extra toilets and showers Eventually moving on to upgrading the barns for use as games rooms etc. Keeping the outside areas maintained. Grass cutting, striming away the thistles and nettles, Dry stone walling, fence repairs. We are always on the look out for new volunteers, either with special skills such as those with experience of rendering or just general DIY. Also there is always plenty to do for anyone willing. We always listen to suggestions and put them into practice if possible so if you have visited Back Dane and have some ideas or want to come along and help us you would be most welcome. Take a look at the photo gallery to see some examples of the work which we are doing on these weekends.
