The Saltwood Boxing Day Run (not race) was started by villagers of Saltwood in S.E.Kent
as a casual event
to help blow away the cobwebs and hangovers of Christmas excess. From 15 runners in 1975 to
925 in 2009, the numbers have changed but not the essence. It is held for fun and charity.
The course is under 3 miles but hilly, tough and often muddy. It appeals to all,
families, fun-runners and international athletes. Website © Stuart Collins
