The Bridle line at present starts in Sydling St Nicholas Dorset with the marriage of George Bridle (Brydell) and Elizabeth Webber a parish spinster in 1755 banns for marriage notes George Bridle alias Frooms?. Before that date Brydell is recorded in parish records, John 1600, William 1608, John Bridell Farmer 1628, Mane Daughter of Richard Bridell 1636, John son of John Bridell Baptised 1605. Before 1600 the parish records are mainly in Latin some in bad condition and unreadable. George and Elizabeth's son Thomas married Grace Oliver in 1795 their son Thomas married Sarah Fry in 1816 They had a son William who was also born in Sydling. William left Sydling with his wife? Elizabeth Harris born in Swanage Dorset and son Elias to live in Esher Surrey about 1850 and worked as an agricultural labourer. In 1851 William joined Surrey Police and was stationed at Godalming, Thursley and Ash until he was asked leave in 1854. He then moved to Aldershot Hampshire where their son James was born in 1867 known as David James. David James worked as a milkman when he married Phoebe Bixley in 1892 He joined the Queens Regt for 12 years and the Royal Reserve for 1 year in 1900 living in Aldershot area until he died age 50 in Farnham Infirmary 1919. Their son Alfred George was born in 1904 at Queens Road Farnborough Hants. Known as George Alfred he served in Hampshire Regt from 1922 to 1932 he married Ada Olive Kislingbury from Send Surrey at Guildford in 1932. George joined the Pioneer Corp from 1939 to 1945 lived in West End, Lightwater and finally Windlesham Surrey I was born in 1949 the youngest with two older sisters Georgina and Ellen
