      DOUG BARBOUR

      Volume

      A series

      and even if everyone agrees
      secular thought best questions
      power power doesn't always answer
      but it says there
      are too many complications
      at every turn
the old parties seek to preserve the
same old ways & refuse to see the
time for a change is now They are not
      indispensable They can be returned
to 'the outer wilderness' & how does
      that feel anyway oh
      power that only once was

Theft of my soul or only my skin
was all that I knew.	All that I'd been
part & parcel you might say
of all I had to give:	the way
the heart does beat faster as
      punishment, an ongoing disaster's
for all we know another crazy
      sexual impetuosity lost in hazy
sin or just lost - in some kind of maze, eh.

      not so fast	there's
quite enough of that going around &
so far only a few have caught it a
routine check revealed anyway neither health
      nor welfare are responsible
so for the moment we're asking
      much more of you	reading
      an open book & an
attack on all that we hold dear being
on the go & following the road of
      excess wherever it leads a
      female transgression not withstanding
sexuality is not the question here although
generally we recognize its subversive potential
but in the end rules of law will have their way
